Tips for Aquarius Season

it’s electric, boogie woogie woogie

Oh Aquarius.

The water bearer brings with it, a detached yet wise perspective. Ruler of the electrical system and peripheral circulation, this season is a great time for activities that calm and center us as well as circulate the cerebral energy. Energetically Aquarius is cold, tense and dry, so it’s important to bring in foods and plants that warm, relax and hydrate. As we are orbiting in fixed air, mental stimulation may be on overdrive, things can freeze, especially thoughts- and the best antidote lies in warming and melting this ice with physical action, nervine and relaxant herbs, calming activities for the nervous system, and let us not forget about connection.

Aquarius likes unique, different, exciting- this is a great time to go exploring, whether into your soul or out in the world. A great time for experiencing eccentric people, flaunting your freak flag, going on that random adventure.

Though both novel and creative, this Saturnian star sign can also sometimes hold an iciness, think of the February season in the northern hemisphere, we are in the heart of winter. This energy can feel cold, stagnant, emotionally absent, righteous, or stubborn but on the other end of the spectrum it can feel mystical, humanitarian, revolutionary, intuitive and visionary.

Finding balance within these parts of ourselves and how they express through us individually is the invited evolution of this archetype. How can we can learn to be the humanitarian, the lover and the listener. How can we focus on the bigger picture and not lose sight of what’s right in front.

Here are some tips for this season, things to watch out for and earth allies to help invoke balance:

Aquarius invites us to move beyond the self and see how we are all connected. This a time to really embrace your inner human and tap into how your individual gifts support the collective. I say this a lot and I’ll say it again because I really mean it- we are in this together.

We each spin a different thread that completes this human quilt, and without each one it wouldn’t be complete. Though these are tender times in our civilization, the medicine of this season couldn’t be available at a better time. Let Aquarius inspire us to work together and think outside the box to initiate the changes we the people are looking to see.

On that same note and something I feel this past full moon in Leo illuminated beautifully- there are two sides to this equation. For real social change and really any change to occur it begins with the self, the individual. We must first take personal responsibility, do our own work and remember that through healing the self we in turn heal collectively.

So to close, wherever you are in your personal journey I hope you celebrate your authentic expressions and honor the gifts you bring to the world. Let Aquarius help you tap into your intellectual genius and reflect on what your unique purpose is on this planet and further still how does this support the whole of humanity? Invite this season to inspire you to make the radical changes you may need for your desired goals, get weird and get going. Let’s use this momentum to shake it up, hold each other accountable, breakdown what’s no longer working and build the structures we want to see in our lives but also as a human race.

Wishing you a beautiful season, you are loved, you’re not alone and good luck out there!
